Solar Powered Strandbeest

I’ve become pretty close to the Strandbeest designs by Theo Jansen, so I decided to play with this idea a bit more.

I’ve been hacking around with electronics and am fascinated by the autonomous power delivered by solar panels.   I experimented with converting Sunpower brand panels into power sources for small robotics.  They come stock with low voltage, but good amps.  So I chopped up a panel and wired it in series to get volts up high enough to drive a small motor to run this cool Strandbeest Model.   The motor bracket is custom designed and 3D printed.  The layout and motor choices took two attempts, but finally worked.
